The Military Training Universe provides Instructor Training costs and counts for Active Duty and Reserve Navy and Marine Corps personnel dating back to FY 2010. The reported cost of instruction is for courses managed by Naval Education and Training Command (NETC).
The Military Training Universe is composed of one main folder (Military Training Data) and two sub-folders (Personnel Data and Course Information Data).
There are two measures, or cost and count objects depicted in the database: (1) Instruction Training Cost and (2) Unique Count of Students. Costs are reported in then-year dollars (TY$). Then Year dollars (TY$) are defined as dollars spent or executed during the fiscal year in which they are reported in VAMOSC.
A user may choose a time period, a combination of cost and count objects, as well as descriptive data elements from the underlying folders when performing a query. The query will display the total cost of instruction as well as the count of personnel for that particular data subset depending on the result objects selected. Data is obtained from this folder by performing a query or by downloading existing query results from the corporate documents section. Additional details on the descriptive elements (Pay-Grade, PRA, Designator, UIC, Learning Center, Course Number, etc) as well as the costs and counts can be found in the Military Training User Manual in the Documentation of the VAMOSC homepage.
