Weapon System Report (WSR) Universe
This universe contains cost and non-cost elements for Air Launched Weapons, Surface and Sub-Surface Launched Missiles, and Torpedoes. The evolution of the WSR has resulted in a data element structure that consists of 95+ cost elements and 55+ non-cost elements. This number of elements was needed to ensure data of interest to all Program Managers was captured. There is no single weapon to which all cost elements apply.
WSR reports data on the following: Air Launched Weapons; Surface and Surface Launched Missiles; and Torpedoes. The attributes of each group are as follows:
- Air Launched Weapons. 18 Weapons reported through 79 cost elements and 38 non-cost elements.
- Surface and Subsurface Launched Missiles. Nine Weapons reported through 59 cost elements and 29 non-cost elements.
- Torpedo. Four Weapons reported through 35 cost elements and 5 non-cost elements.
The WSR identifies weapons by variant. There are instances in which one variant will appear in the Air Launched Weapon sub-universe, and the second will appear in the Surface and Subsurface Launched Missile sub-universe, i.e. Sparrow AIM-7 and Sparrow RIM-7. Cost elements may be individually or collectively selected in a query. Non-cost units may be displayed in the same query.
